Prominent Citizen Harvey Leeka Dies After Long Illness
Harvey M. Leeka aged 75 died at home Sunday night after months of illness. A tile manufacturer by trade, he lived in the area about 30 years and was a respected church member. Survivors include his widow two brothers and two sisters with a large funeral at the M E Church conducted by Rev. W C Peters and burial in the local cemetery. Relatives from distant towns attended.

Missionary Society Meats A November Gathering
The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Church met on the first Thursday in November at Miss Ella Bodeny's home. Mrs. Coffin led, with Mrs. Green opening devotions. Mrs. Penn read a Home article for the club, and Mr. Peters spoke on church tithing as sacrifice beyond money. John McCreight Dies at 76 Near New Vienna and Hillsboro
John McCreight a retired farmer living between New Vienna and Hillsboro died last Wednesday at age 76 after a period of illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at Dunn's Chapel at 1 30 with burial in Hillsboro Cemetery. Surviving are his widow and son Charles McCreight a county Grange leader and clerk of Liberty township board of education.

Highland burglary suspects nabbed near Marysville
A 17 year old Ray Newman and Ernest Thomas, both of Peebles, were arrested in Marysville after a Carmel store burglary. They had stolen merchandise valued around 3500 dollars and were holding it in a truck. The Copas Bros burglary loot was found in a Marysville store room as the pair planned to stock a general store. The youths were jailed in Hillsboro with the boy under juvenile court care and Newman bound over to the grand jury.
