Rev Smith Resigns After 19 Years at New Vienna Church
Rev. F. H. Smith, pastor of the New Vienna Church of Christ for 19 years, resigns effective August 31 after a church board meeting. A carpenter by trade, he built his home on his farm near the Panhandle road. His sons Owen and Calvin are tied to Dayton and Capital University respectively.

Hailstorm Causes Severe Damage in Mt Olive Area
A Sunday evening storm in Mt Olive damaged property and crops. Henry Stethem’s Machine Shop roof collapsed, several windows shattered, and the Frost residence roof was blown off. James L Wolfe reported chicks killed and a brooder house toppled. Wheat and an early garden were badly damaged, with six inch hail accumulations. Tree loss and plant damage were widespread.

Rulons Attend Mason Lodge and Social Funds
Charles H. Rulon and relatives from Wilmington and Hamilton attended a Mason lodge in Mason last Friday where Walker, the master’s son in law, performed the degree work by the Proctor and Gamble team from Cincinnati. Fairview Friends Church youth raised about 50 dollars at an ice cream social taught by Mrs. Jack Kildow and Theodore Dunseith to fund a summer camp. Mrs. Floyd Smalley and her children visited Heber Keith and family in Cincinnati on Sunday.
