Henry Rhonemus 7 percent retired farmer died at his home Sunday after a four day illness. Born October 29 1870 near Lees Creek he married Sylvia Matthews July 26 1694. Survived by widow a son Harold of Cincinnati a daughter Mrs C J Gerard of Dayton a granddaughter and two great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at 2 PM at Davis Funeral Home with burial in Centerville cemetery Lees Creek. Christmas Day guests included Mr and Mrs John Mossbarger of New Holland and several Terrell and Bond family members.

Admits Fatal Beating Of Child In Washington D. C.
Elmer Downard 21, veteran and former cab driver, confessed to beating his wife’s two year old daughter in their Washington D. C. home on December 24. He stated the child cried and he knocked her down and bumped her head until she was unconscious then covered the body with a toy dog after placing her in bed. First degree murder charges have been filed.

Wilmington Lions Club judges named Wilbur Huffman residence and Streberg's Thrift-E Market the best decorated home and business, in New Vienna. Prizes of five, two, and one dollars were awarded to first, second, and third places respectively, sponsored by the New Vienna American Legion Post and Lions Club.
