Farmer's Institute Week Celebrates Progress
The Farmers Institute held its first meeting February 18 1925 in the school auditorium with a full program of songs recitations and lectures by Paul Smith West Union Ohio and Paul Gerlaugh Columbus Ohio. Students performed exercises and a community dinner followed. The event continued February 19 with talks on pure bred seeds sweet clover and farm laws, culminating in a pageant The Wheel of Progress and a Washington Birthday program. Officers were elected and prizes awarded for a poster contest.

Baby Injured As Drumstick Juts Into Mouth
The one year old daughter of R. E. Sear of Locust Grove was seated in a high chair when it toppled. The blunt end of a drumstick pierced her mouth into the jaw causing a very serious wound. The mouth was so swollen the full extent could not be determined.

Bainbridge Doctor’s Home and Office Damaged by Fire
The Bainbridge home and office of Dr. W. W. Davis were damaged by a fire last Saturday evening. Losses are estimated at about 3500 dollars. The interior was burned and valuable instruments badly damaged, with most of the drug supply destroyed. Fire is believed to have originated from crossed wires.

Sale of the Washington C H Gas and Electric Company to the Miami Development Company of Dayton is announced for 500000 dollars. Adultery charge lands blacksmith in county jail
Elmer Wood a Morrisville blacksmith awaits trial for living in adultery with Mrs Nellie Armstrong of Morrisville. Both were arrested Sunday night. Wood pleaded not guilty at arraignment before Squire W I Stewart and faces trial February 26 at 1 PM. Armstrong pleaded guilty. sentence not yet pronounced. Frank Bean and Charles Huffman of Centerville were fined five dollars each after being arrested Sunday morning near Centerville on intoxication charges. Sheriff Will Smitt and Deputy Gus Miller arrested them following a telephone summon as onlookers noted their drunken condition.

Wayne Township and New Vienna Teams Clash in Trio of Games
Wayne Township fell to New Vienna in a tight opener that went to five overtimes, Wildcats Matson and Walls starred for Wayne and Lawrence Matson led the home team. The girls lost their contest but the New Vienna squad rebounded to a 30 24 win as Freeman shuffled the lineup. The final boys game saw Wayne pull away after the half and finish 26 16 with strong bench play. Mark McMillan of Wilmington High School officiated.

Mrs Sarah Hunt Dies at Martinsville Home
Mrs. Sarah Hunt of Martinsville, about 79, died Friday afternoon after a long illness. She was a well known civic figure and mother to Reid Hunt of Boston and Wright Hunt of Duluth. Funeral services were Sunday at 2 PM at the Saints Church with burial in Martinsville Cemetery.

Chillicothe Athletes Escape Serious Injury in Wreck
Five Chillicothe high school basketball players escaped serious harm when their car wrecked near Lattasville on the way to Greenfield to see the McClain Frankfort game. The driver, blinded by an approaching car, caused the vehicle to leave the road and overturn into a ditch. all five occupants suffered cuts and bruises, with the car demolished.
