Auto Crash Injures Easter and Five Others
Francis Jake Easter 32 of Highland suffered a broken ankle deep facial and neck cuts and chest injuries when his 1937 Ford hit a utility pole near Peter Adams home in Highland around 2 30 Sunday. He was removed from the wreckage and taken to Highlands Community Hospital. Five people were hurt in a separate 5 30 P M Monday head on collision on Route 62 north of Hillsboro involving Wilbur Chaplin 38 and Joseph White 290 both taken to Highlands Community Hospital. Chaplin had facial lacerations. White injuries not detailed.

Draft Notice For New Vienna Instructor Adrian Roberts
Adrian Roberts, vocational agriculture instructor at New Vienna, is scheduled for induction January 12. Superintendent R. W. Fenwick said the Highland County draft board has no replacement planned and no substitutes are available in the state. Roberts hails from Mowrystown and is registered with the local draft board.

Highland Woman and Son Injured in Route 62 Crash
Mrs. Stanley Cox and her son Johnny were treated for cuts and bruises after a 1936 Ford driven by Mrs. Cox skidded out of control on Route 62 near Leesburg, crashed through a guard rail, and overturned in front of the Vincent Fairley home. Both were released from community hospital. Mr. Cox owns Highland Motor Service. The car sustained extensive damage.

Mrs. Clara Ellene Taylor age 73 widow of Judson Taylor died at her daughter Mrs. Baty Gleason's home in Loveland. Survived by five sons and four daughters including William L. Taylor of New Vienna. Several services were held at Weethoro Tuesday.
