Local Basket Social Nets $561.50 For Church

Two new eighth graders Herbert George and David Frank helped stage a town hall basket social on Tuesday. About forty baskets sold with receipts totaling 561.50. Albert Nathony and Joe Morse bid against James Edenshaw. Nathony and Morse won the top $54 basket prepared by Martha Logan. Auctioneer Sam Davis praised the lively bidding. lowest basket went for $7.00. The event closed with a short dance as Adam Spahn clears land for a new home.

Banshee Gas Boat Delivers Freight to Wrangell

Peter Anniskitt of Klawack owns the Banshee that made a special Wrangell freight trip this week. Lena George, the only high school girl, brought a basket paid for by James Edenso at 18 dollars. The Mill shut due to frost. Mrs. Campbell noted her growing boy. Paul Rogney, top wood sawyer, finished six ricks for the Gov t school in four days and works for H T Co. George Haldane is the mill superintendent.
