In Birmingham Alabama hundreds of Negro school children led by comedian Dick Gregory marched from 16th Street Baptist Church to police roadblocks and were jailed. By afternoon authorities reported 967 arrests with total protests this month over 2,300. Juveniles filled city jails while adults faced county facilities as white reporters joined the ranks.

Two Utah Men Electrocuted In Sevier County
In Annabella Utah two Wasatch Electric Co workers Ray Robinson 39 of Provo and Richard Rice 26 of Evanston Wyoming were electrocuted when a truck boom struck a ground wire on a 5000 volt line. Robinson held the pole as the boom hit the wire and Rice died trying to pull him free.

Victor Picard Dies After 65 Years In Butte
Victor Picard 74 of 1915 S Idaho died Monday in a local hospital. A 32 year Beebe Grain Co. employee and retired teamster, he lived in Butte for 65 years and was a Ironwood Michigan native. He belonged to St. Joseph Church and Boulevard Volunteer Fire Department. Survived by son Edward daughter Mrs Anthony Kruzich sister Mrs Mary O Neill and several grandchildren. The Missouri House tabled a bill allowing parochial students to ride public buses, effectively killing the measure for 1965 unless revived by a two third vote.
