Robert E. Dwyer, retired president of the Anaconda Co., died Monday in Montclair New Jersey at age 81. A native of Anaconda he graduated from Anaconda High School in 1902 and began at the Anaconda reduction department in 1903. He rose through accounting and auditing roles, moved to New York in 1918, became general auditor in 1922, then vice president in 1926 and vice president and treasurer in 1932.

Whitehall girl dies in wreck on Highway 28
A 20 year old Whitehall woman Lynn Marie Zietzke was killed Tuesday when her car crossed the center line and struck a semitrailer ten miles south of Whitehall on Highway 28. The truck driver Leon Howell and his six year old son were uninjured. The truck sleeper occupant Lloyd Cannon suffered a stiff neck. Zietzke, born July 18 1946, was a Whitehall native and 1964 Whitehall High School graduate.
