Butte High selects Dean Gerke as new basketball coach
Dean Gerke, 34, veteran cage coach, named head basketball mentor at Butte High School by the Board of Trustees on a 6 to 1 vote. He replaces Bob Rae who retired in May. The board also rehired Bill Kambich as head football coach and named George Tarrant head track coach. Charlie Merrifield becomes cross country assistant and Don Peoples moves to physical education. Gerke, formerly at Baker High and Lowell Wyoming, posted strong prep records including a state title in 1962 63 and a high winning rate in six Wyoming years.
