Silver Bow County voters, 21 909 registered, have 12 hours to cast ballots for Montana constitution parts and various state and local offices. Polls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. across 43 precincts with both voting machines and constitutional paper ballots used.

Helena The State Board of Institutions reaffirmed that a new prison is its top building priority. Ed Kellner said Gov. Anderson's budget directive could add about $4 million to institutions for 1973-75 beyond the $37 million already allocated, with growth in the tax base and savings from reorganization limiting increases. He noted high per capita costs at Deer Lodge and overlapping facilities at Rothe Hall and the old walled prison, urging a single fence to reduce payroll and other costs.
