Butte Collision Kills Two Men Involving Shillelagh Tavern
Two men died in a high speed head on crash south of Butte Saturday evening. Charles Raymond Uhtoff 21 of 1623 Lowell and Leonard Campanella 52 of 210 S. Jackson died. Lester Clarke 50 of 1814 Stuart is in serious condition. An unidentified nun aided Campanella at the scene applying bandages and mouth to mouth resuscitation until help arrived.

Two Airmen Drown in Pond on Ranch Near Great Falls
Two Air Force enlisted men died while swimming in an off-limits pond on Henry Sheffels Ranch near Great Falls Montana. Airman Charles A. Holznagel age 19 from Pittsburgh and Airman Charles R. Iffert age 20 from Pennsylvania were assigned to a Malmstrom AFB supply squadron. Iffert’s body was recovered at 30 feet after a scuba search. Holznagel’s body was later found after dragging operations. Witnesses said the men were horsing around on a log when they fell off and shouted they were drowning, then surfaced laughing.
