Four Billings men fished six miles south of Columbus when a rubber raft capsized in the Stillwater River channel. Lou Vittori, 35, was found. Ron Eckroth, 21, remained missing. Cuba Opens Large Drive on Rebels in Sierra Maestra

Crop dusting plane crashes near Clear Lake
Fort Benton sheriff officials said a crop dusting plane crashed on the north bank of the Missouri River about 15 miles east of Clear Lake and 35 miles northeast of Geraldine. Pilot tentatively identified as Russ Pierce of Geraldine. the plane owned by Tom Harrod of Geraldine. Sheriff's deputies investigated the scene as flames burned about 9:30 p.m.

Montana Farmer is 74th Road Fatality
Harry Aker a 56 year old Cut Bank farmer died in Shelby hospital Friday night from injuries in a Thursday head on crash on U S Highway 2 two miles east of Shelby. His brother Palmer Aker Everett Brewer and two 11 year old passengers were hospitalized but expected to recover. About 140 blood donors from the 681st squadron gathered at the hospital. The toll for 1957 reaches 74, up from 89 a year earlier.
