Officials seek info on shot grizzly near Noxon Montana
Wildlife officials seek information after a grizzly bear with a tracking collar was shot and killed May 16 near the South Fork of Bull River north of Noxon. The body was found May 24 in the Cabinet Yank ecosystem, one of the least populated grizzly zones, where killing a grizzly is generally restricted under federal law.

Two adjacent Butte houses damaged by early morning fire
Firefighters responded after 7 a.m. to a blaze in the 900 block of Colorado Street in Butte. The south house was heavily charred while its neighbor suffered fire damage. A resident couple sought hospital assessment for smoke inhalation as investigators, led by Fire Marshal Kelly Lee, determine the cause. Don Horne watched over his son’s house nearby, which appeared largely undamaged.
