In Missoula a 3 year old, David Edward Rung, died when a backyard lawn swing collapsed on him. His older brother Byron Lee was on the swing. Doctors said death was instantaneous and no inquest is planned. He leaves parents Edward and Mrs. Rung and grandparents in Anaconda, Helena, and Missoula.

Burglars Crack Into Safe At Butte Garage
Two burglaries and a rash of minor thefts struck Butte on Thursday. Yeggs kicked in garage door panels at Perfection Spring and Auto Service to reach the office and its safe. They used an acetylene torch on the safe front but failed to open it, leaving the dial on the floor. The intruders turned the safe on its side and chiseled a hole before fleeing.

Henry Fountain Ashurst former U S senator from Arizona died in Washington from a stroke at age 87. He served in the Senate from statehood in 1912 until 1940 and later acted in Advise and Consent. Born September 13 1874 in a Nevada wagon he grew up in Arizona and studied at Flagstaff Stockton and the University of Michigan.

Eichmann body cremated after execution in Israel

Fall in Abandoned Mine Claims Alberta Boy 4
GHOST PINE CREEK Alta. UPI reports a 36 hour rescue ended with the discovery of Kenny Kowalachuk's body at the 54 foot level of an abandoned mine. He apparently suffocated, with dirt on his head, after rescuers feared carbon monoxide gas in the shaft. The child's body was brought to the surface in a crane bucket.
