Seattle report says Dave Beck, longtime Teamsters leader and reputed millionaire, was convicted of grand larceny for stealing 1,900 from a union Cadillac sale. A five man seven woman jury deliberated 8 hours 17 minutes, Beck facing up to 15 years. sentencing not set. He was free on 3,000 bond.
Wernher von Braun urged a 10 year U S program for a manned space station with a yearly budget near 1 decline 1% billion over a decade. He testified that space stations could support reconnaissance and missile defense and noted Soviet ICBM progress and capabilities. He suggested a five year phase to orbit a returnable man.
Montana east region sees partly cloudy skies with cooler winds, highs 35 to 45 and lows 20 to 30. West area will be mostly cloudy with some sun east, a few snow flurries in western mountains, highs 30 to 40 and lows 15 to 25. The table notes max readings for 12 hours and min for 18 hours ending 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Montana traffic toll rose to 193 with the deaths of Clyde Benjam in Drollinger and Joseph H. Paxton from accidents Thursday and Friday. Drollinger, 76, of Fairfield, died after his car left the road and struck a borrow pit. Paxton, 52, a Chester construction worker, died en route to a Great Falls hospital after being found in wreckage near Lothair.

Eisenhower urged unity to face the Soviet threat and stressed “true partnership” against despotic power while reassuring France over NATO cooperation.
Tens of thousands of Parisians greeted President Eisenhower with enthusiasm as he arrived in Paris for a NATO summit opening. He appeared tired yet showed notable vigor riding in an open car along a 13 mile route from Orly Airport amid near freezing weather. French Premier Felix Gaillard called his recovery “Incredible” while doctors say he remains under medical supervision.
George B. Schotte of Butte urged use of federal funds to build forest development roads in Beaverhead and Deer Lodge National Forests and promote the Lewis and Clark Highway. Speaking for chambers and highway associations, he cited timber, recreation, tourism, water, and grazing as key benefits and urged an orderly network financed by the government for long range timber utilization.
Montana and South Dakota lawmakers along with Gov J Hugo Aronson urged speedy completion of the Lewis and Clark Highway at a Senate Public Works hearing at Montana State University. Support came from state highway associations and other groups in MT ND SD, with Mineral County Chamber of Commerce the sole opposition.

Seals available by mail in 15 000 household mailings and at booths in Hennessys department store and J C Penney with cash receptacles in other businesses. Proceeds support year round free public tuberculosis services and operations.
West Germany will not commit to guided missile bases on German soil now. Chancellor Adenauer said any decision requires consultation with the Bundestag before Parliament is asked to decide.
