Owen D Young of General Electric and RCA told the Senate interstate commerce committee that the Citizens bill would create a federal communications commission with power over radio, wire lines and interstate energy transmission. Denver Colorado December 9 Ben B Lindsey famed for shaping the nations juvenile court system was banished from the Colorado bar by the state supreme court He was found to have violated his oath as judge and attorney by accepting gifts totaling 47500 from Mrs Helen Elwood Stokes and 10000 from Samuel Untermyer of New York in the Stokes will case Lindsey argued his actions served the wards interests The court rejected this claim and Lindsey vowed to continue his defiant stance with further remarks under report heading Continued on Page 2 Col 2.
Night beacon installation on the Butte to Pocatello airmail route begins today after completion of the Idaho city Salt Lake segment. Officials of National Park Airways say operation depends on weather and will enable day and night service once lighting is finished, funded by the U S government.

The storm series, lasting since Thursday, is described as the worst in a century, with 115 deaths and extensive property losses. Dozens of steamers wrecked or stranded, Ramsgate lifeboat responding to the sinking Frieda off Deal as tugs struggle amid battering seas.
Chicago officials report Sam H. Thompson of the American Farm Bureau federation told about 5,000 official representatives at the federation’s 11th annual convention that co operative organizations have united more than 1,000,000 farmers for greater prosperity. He said agriculture must gain credit strength to match other industries and that amendments to the rural credit act are being prepared for congressional passage to improve agricultural finance.
In Chatham Ontario a massive early morning fire gutted two downtown structures including the Garner hotel. Authorities estimated losses at 750000 dollars, marking the city’s most damaging blaze on record.
In Everett Massachusetts two men were killed and three injured after a series of blasts at the Terminal Oil plant. H. C. Johnson aged 63 of Everett and Charles Czarnetski 24 of East Boston died. The fires began when a tank car back fired igniting a 7,000 gallon tank. Fire units battled flames across several tanks as Governor Allen sent inspectors.
New York December 9 The board of directors and the newsprint committee of the American Newspaper Publishers Association announced they see no justification for an increase in newsprint prices. The group met after adjournment of a publishers convention from the United States and Canada discussing proposed price hikes by manufacturers.
Washington Dec 9 Senate leaders planned to push the 160 million tax reduction resolution before week’s end after shelving it for tariff debate. Senate Republican leader Watson aimed to arrange a two day debate limit and schedule a Thursday or Friday floor vote. If no understanding exists, a further move was expected tomorrow.
Hamilton December 9 Sheriff J B Stokes Ravalli county testified he received a telephone call about a car theft and, with Chiefs and deputies, watched routes. He claimed he did not stop at the county fairgrounds, driving a mile beyond instead as the trial continued with cross examination paused for the day.
W L Hayward associate executive for Region No 11 says the Boy Scout movement in Washington Oregon Idaho and Montana still has growing pains but 35000 members with prospects for growth. He notes Butte conditions are the best yet thanks to volunteer leadership and improving industry. The February celebration marks the sixth anniversary since incorporation in 1910.
