Dillon Resident and Son Die in Idaho Crash
A 60 ton earth mover collided with a sedan near Dillon Idaho, killing Ada Dieterle 56 and her 14 year old son William. Father E Lewis Dieterle and daughter Linda 12 were hospitalized in Idaho Falls with injuries. The earth mover was driven by Don Turner of Rigby. An inquest will be held per Jefferson County Coroner Norman Hall. The Dieterles were returning from Idaho Falls after a trip to town.

Mrs. Fredricka Cush ing 82 of Dillon died Saturday in Fresno California where she spent winters. Funeral services will be in Dillon with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. She was born September 28 1875 in Ohio and lived in Dillon most of her life except winters in California. Surviving are a son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Wallace Ogden of Fresno sisters Mrs Clara Ferris of Willon and Mrs Emma Bidstrup of Sunnyvale two grandchildren and four great grandchildren plus sisters in law Mrs Lorenzo Cushing and Mrs Will Cushing of Dillon. The body will be sent to Brundage Funeral Home.

Butte Stores Open For Night Shopping
Butte stores hummed with activity Saturday as shoppers from the Mining City and surrounding areas used the second night shopping session of the season. On the next two Saturdays Dec 14 and 21 stores will remain open until 9 p m to accommodate evening purchases. Regular closing hours will be observed the remainder of the time including Christmas Eve. Only 14 shopping days remain before the big holiday. Happy faces carried armloads of packages as stores closed for the night. Proprietors assure shelves will be stocked fully when stores reopen Monday morning.

Hunter From Butte Survives Mountain Lost Run Near Dillon
Ed Nilson of Butte aged 26 spent more than 24 hours lost in the Birch Creek Willow Creek area about 25 miles northwest of Dillon. A deer sighting sparked the trek. a blizzard and knee deep snow challenged him until a ranger's cabin and the help of National Guardsmen, sheriff deputies, and volunteers aided the rescue. He returned home Saturday night with his parents and recounted how he weathered the ordeal with matches, warm clothing, and steady navigation to find his way out by late Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services for Mark Manlove a Montana pioneer will be held Monday in Bozeman. He would have turned 90 on Friday and died Thursday night in a Bozeman hospital. Burial is planned near Helena. Surviving are a brother Wilbur Manlove of East Helena and a sister Ilene Webster of San Diego. His death reduces the Montana Society of Pioneers to 21 members. He was born December 13 1867 near East Helena and moved to Bozeman 45 years ago.
