Santa's Helper Slayer in Ex Convict Slaying Case

John W. Givens, an ex convict and Santa's helper at Mt Gallitzin academy, is charged with the slayings of fellow farm hands Joseph Neugebauer and Matthew Magann after an argument over who was boss. The victims were battered with a sharp weapon suspected to be a trench knife. Givens, employed as a state sanitation Army janitor, aided in Santa activities before his arrest following a tip from Los Angeles.

Slaying Suspect Being Sought in Family Tragedy

In Los Angeles a man identified as Raymond B. Jensen is hunted after a fatal knife assault on his infant son and a brutal attack on five family members. Jensen’s wife Helen was stabbed and her six-week-old daughter Jenean was critically wounded. Parents Mr and Mrs Bodner were cut about the face and chest. The infant Raymond Jensen died. The wife reported the husband trampled the child during a confrontation.

Anniversary Noted by Incubator Babe at Baker Hospital

Suzanne Marie Russell, the first infant to use the local hospital incubator, celebrated her first birthday last week. Born at 24 ounces and 10 inches, she now weighs 17 pounds and stands 2735 inches tall in reportedly excellent health. In Butte a 30-ounce incubator baby is gaining after early weight loss, while Mickey Davis weighed nearly 25 ounces with doctors reporting satisfactory condition.

Charles Brazier, 55, of 107 East Freemont, was rushed to St. James hospital after choking and collapsing Sunday night. Firemen resuscitated him and he was admitted for further treatment. family could not yet explain the medical cause.

Bus overturns injures 26 in Nebraska slide

Twenty six people were injured when an Overland Greyhound Lines bus skidded on an icy highway one and a half miles east of GHAPSMAN Nebraska. Nine were hospitalized at Grand Island, while seventeen received treatment for cuts and bruises and were dismissed. No serious injuries were reported.

Felix Steinle Dies on Coast

Felix Steinle longtime Butte resident and former manager of operations for National Parks Airways died Sunday at his Pasadena home. An aviator in World War I, he directed Salt Lake City to Great Falls operations with headquarters at Butte airport. He later moved to California and farmed. Survived by wife and three sons. Details of the funeral were not provided.

War Heroe's Body En Route to Butte
