Second Shooting At Whitefish In 24 Hours
In Whitefish on August 25 an unidentified man, likely fatally shot after attempting to rob recluse Tim Murphy, who lives near the police station. In Valparaiso Indiana on August 24 more than 1000 residents joined a massive search for Betty Jane Foster who was abducted from her wealthy parents home by ex farmhand Claude Dillinger. Police say Dillinger enticed the girl with candy and a ride, taking her in a decrepit car while two other children watched. The Foster family was five miles south when the incident occurred and authorities report the children testified Dillinger lured them into the car. The story continues on page 3.
