Mrs. Edmondine Bertrand, 82, of 2238 Massachusetts, died Thursday in a local hospital. A Canadian native who moved to Butte at age eight, she married Ozias Bertrand in 1900 and survived by daughters Helen Smith, Florence Johnson, and Mona han. a brother Sylvain Smith in Florida. several grandchildren and a Navy member. Services set at St. Ann Church Monday at 9:30 a.m. with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery after the Rosary at 7:45 p.m.

A 42 year old woman Mary Kazih Manson was arraigned as an alleged accessory in the great mail train robbery and charged with receiving $2338 knowing it was part of the loot. Scotland Yard released pictures of three other suspects and one was arrested within an hour. Charles Frederick Wilson was identified after his photo aired on TV while James E. White was named as a case proprietor.

Drillers restarted a 12 inch escape shaft at Hazleton Pennsylvania to reach trapped miners David Fellin 58 and Henry Throne 72 while a cobalt probe and Geiger counter tested the initial six inch lifeline hole.
