Twenty seven firms and individuals received bid packets for the new post office building to be built west of Harrison Avenue near the Northern Pacific tracks. From Butte seven bidders are listed including Bill Markovich and Taylor-Mcdonnell Construction Co. and Emmett Casey of the Standard Auto Works. Additional bidders hail from Spokane Coeur d Alene Billings Great Falls Portland Seattle San Francisco Los Angeles. Bids open in Billings on September 17.

City Moves to Sell Harrison Lots Despite Disapproval
The Butte City Council advanced selling two Harrison Avenue lots to Leon and Eddie's Drive-In for 3000 dollars per lot with 1000 down and 100 monthly at six percent. Firemen in Melrose extinguished a blaze in a repair shop garage then found a truck, missing its carburetor, had moved about 100 feet from the burning building under its own power.
