Butte Girl Dies After Fall From Hotel Fire Escape

Betty Ruth Wilson, 3, died of a skull fracture and a broken neck after tumbling from a third story fire escape at the Russo Hotel in Butte. Coroner Dr. Emmet J. Paulsen said no inquest is planned. autopsy will be performed with parental consent. The girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wesley Wilson, died about 6 45 p.m. at St James Hospital. She leaves a stepsister, two sisters and a brother, all in Butte. Body at Daly Shea Mortuary.

Two More Killed on State Roads

Mrs. Sigwart V. Carlson, 65, died after an auto crash 25 miles west of Glasgow on U S Highway 2. Her husband and daughter Ovida were treated and released. The car left the road after meeting a truck, traveled 546 feet, struck a bank, en route to their ranch near Flaxville. This marked the 128th Montana traffic death this year, compared with 132 last year.

Truck Driver Dies In Missoula County Crash

Lewis R. McDonnell, 40, of Coeur d Alene Idaho, died when his truck overturned south of Missoula after apparently dozing off at the wheel. The Lolo Canyon road mishap occurred about 17 miles from Lolo. Montana’s 1955 traffic toll rose to 129, nearing last year’s March total.
