Dillon Youths Sentenced to 16 Years in Woman Assault Case
Two 17 year old Dillon youths Gary Sheffler and Thomas Roberts pleaded guilty to brutal assault of a 44 year old Dillon woman July 2. They were sentenced to 16 years in Montana State Prison and will be eligible for parole in about three years. Officer John Rebish arrested them after witnessing the assault between two downtown churches.

Nelson C. Drummond, a Navy sailor, was sentenced to life in prison by a federal judge for conspiracy to sell Navy secrets to the Soviet Union. The judge said he spared Drummond from the electric chair out of compassion for his wife and parents.
