Town sketches recount a farmer George Hart who dismisses the moon phase planting superstition. Anecdotes feature local residents in Union County, jokes about names, and village observations on crops, goats, and Wilson era politics. A Miami dispatch reports two possemen killed in a bank robbery pursuit in Homestead Everglades.
The Journal announces price changes with subscriptions remaining at one dollar per year for renewals until October. New subscriptions from this date rise to a rate of $1.40 per year, while the issue price moves to $1.60 annually due to higher paper and material costs.
