Tragic Train Fatality Near Morrisville Reported
A two year old girl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J Farmer, died after wandering onto the Southern Railway track near Morrisville as train 139 from Goldsboro passed. The engine struck the child, whose body was crushed between the rails, before the train halted. Passengers recalled a horrifying sight as the body was taken from the crossties and the train continued to Greensboro.
