Oldest Mecklenberg County resident Eld Hinson died at Arlington home Saturday night at age 92. A native of Union County, he lived in Arlington 55 years and left a large family. A longtime Baptist pillar and pioneer miner of Surface Hill, he also ran a country store and farmed widely. Funeral held at Arlington Baptist Church with deacons as pallbearers.
