The U S Census Bulletin reports Union county has 6315 homes, 4640 farm homes with 1697 owner occupied free of mortgage and 308 mortgaged, 2674 rented farms. Urban homes total 6215 with 1026 owned and 419 free of incumbrance, 88 mortgaged, 1026 rented. Data gaps exist for a small share. About two hundred bales of cotton sold locally yesterday and about 160 bales at Waxhaw.

Howard Craig was jailed for safe keeping after a 14 year old girl Miss Odessa Coggin was attacked in a cotton field near New London.
