County Fair to Showcase Record Corn and Livestock Exhibits

The committee promotes this fall fair as the best yet with corn displays by adult farmers and youth, pumpkins potatoes wheat oats cabbage turnips peas cane seed butter and molasses. The Waxhaw area reports a cow theft solved in Monroe with a road sentence for a suspect who stole a cow and fled to Charlotte and Monroe. John Richardson Jr narrowly escaped injury while loading lumber when a large stack toppled, packed with bystanders helping extract him. he suffered bruises and strains but no broken bones.
