Origin of Indian Runners From West Indies in America
The Indian Runner duck, long and upright in stance, originated in the West Indies and arrived in America a few years ago. They are small four to five pound ducks, prolific layers with white eggs, and produce superior meat valued by hotels and restaurants. When free-range in summer they forage in fields, and for market fattening grain should be ground or cooked.
