Supposed to Have Been Stolen Found Dead in Swamp

A horse belonging to Mr. Charlie Tatum disappeared from a pasture near Salisbury. A thorough search found the animal dead in a marshy spot, the creature having wandered in and become embedded in quicksand-like ground. Nearby, a mule owned by Mr. Clyde Ennis, also stolen, was found dead in the same marshy area. The report includes local notes and community updates.

Peculiar four legged chicken born on Southern farm

A chicken at Mr. Charlie Gaffer’s farm in the South is described as peering like a toad frog, meowing like a kitten, and chirping like a bird. It has a long body and four legs, yet is healthy and growing. Old mother Ken dislikes it while the father rooster is said to be suing for divorce.

Missionary preacher Mr Stewart visits Asheville church
