Bold burglaries strike Waxhaw four stores in one night

Four Waxhaw stores were broken into on Monday night with plate glass fronts shattered at three locations. Estimated losses run about 150 dollars as investigators seek the culprits. Parley McNeely’s house was entered the same night and a lamp left burning to mislead Parley. Pauline Robinson, a Waxhaw native, scored 98.75 on the state nursing board, earning head nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Walker Gets 30 Years In Murder Plea

Little Boy Killed at Mill Accident in Albemarle

Winifred Hall aged 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hall, was killed Saturday morning at his father's mill. He was caught on the shafting as he approached the machinery with his brother. The shafting, only inches above the floor, entangled his clothing and pulled him into the mechanism, causing his death.
