Mrs Martha Jane Helms aged about 84 died late Sunday night at her daughter Mrs Jonah Williams home. Funeral services were held Monday by Rev Billy Williams and interment was in Chaney graveyard three miles north of town. She was born near Unionville in 1843, daughter of Thomas D Helms and Liza Crowell, leaving five children and several surviving siblings. She was a Baptist and known for helping neighbors.
