Revenue Machinery Act Changes Return Abolished Assessor
The legislature changes the revenue and machinery acts with a higher general property tax rate from 45 to 47 2 3 cents and shifts state taxes on capital stock to the State Treasurer. Inheritance and income taxes are revised with new rates, while the corporate franchise tax is set at 1 25 of 1 percent with a $7.50 minimum. Listing begins May 18 as counties appoint list-takers to implement the overhaul.
