Henry Boyd is jailed on a charge of firing into the dwelling of Rev. W. C. Ferris. Deputies Smith and Meyers detained him after a complaint alleged a pistol bullet struck the Ferris residence.
In White Plains New York on September 19 witnesses for the state described finding Clarence Peters body on a lonely road seventeen months earlier in the trial of Walter Ward a millionaire baker charged with murder. Dr Henry Vier testified about the autopsy and avoided estimating Peters distance when shot. The prosecution argues Ward fired at close range despite his claim of a distance.
Salae Barrazas, confessed slayer of Francisco Villa, arrived under heavy guard in Chihuahua City to serve a 20 year sentence. Thousands gathered at the station to witness the event. Petitions circulate for his pardon.
Dublin Sept 19 William T Cosgrave was re elected by the Dail Eireann as president of the executive council of the Irish Free State. He will continue as head of the government and lead the administration in Dublin.
Noted explorer and big game hunter Paul J. Rainey died aboard the British steamer Saxon while traveling from Southampton toward Capetown after suffering paralysis. His body was buried at sea. Rainey, born in Cleveland September 18, 1861, built a vast hunting empire including a 30,000 acre cotton plantation near New Albany Mississippi and a renowned hunting preserve. He chaired various clubs, owned racing stables, and helped lead the U S polo team to a historic win.
Miss Glenna Collett of Providence American woman golf champion defeated Miss Edith Lettch of England five and four in the second round of Canadian women's championship at Montreal. Collett posted a remarkable 37 for the first nine holes.
A six year old girl identified as Sven Olose was left in a wheel chair at St Anthony Hospital after a man in a car brought her in claiming she was ill. Sister Baptista and deputies described the suspect as a about twenty, six feet tall, 200 pounds. No signs of violence found and death attributed to water-related cause according to doctors.

David C Heine, 79, last survivor of the First Caddo Rifles and senior member of Shreveport Typographical Union No. 155, died at home from injuries after being run down by an automobile on Monday.
Washington Sept 19 The American Red Cross relief fund for Japanese relief today reached a total of $9,094,200 as public donations continued.
In Geneva the opium commission of the League of Nations discussed a plan for a large international conference in Washington to curb drug use and manufacture. A two conference setup was proposed, later suggested to unite into one in Washington. Three U S delegates attended, led by Rep Stephen Porter of Pittsburgh.
Chicago authorities move to present evidence to a grand jury in the killings of Jerry O Connor, George Men, and George Bucher in the beer runners war. State's attorney questioned about a score of people and obtained a statement tying Daniel McFall to the O Connor case.

Shanghai dispatch reports Chinese troops at Foo Chow opened fire on the Japanese steamship Yiyang Maru killing the captain. The ship was boarded and the crew seized for a 400,000 ransom. Attacks on Chang-Sha also inflicted casualties on Japanese and British forces.
