President T K Jackson of Mobile Electric Company said representatives will go to Montgomery next Monday to ask the Alabama Public Service Commission to send engineers to Mobile to study the company’s condition and set rates under the city agreement. The firm plans a $50 000 plant upgrade including heavy wire, a new water front pump, and a new automatic stoker to add 500 horsepower. The city and company pact, backed by local supporters, seeks a fair rate for a 12 month period, after a war emergency rise previously challenged by the Supreme Court.
