N L Scott, held in the city jail for four days on advice of a government narcotic agent, was released by Edington in police court this morning. Scott said he must support his family and return to Gulfport Miss where he was employed. He denied being a drug addict but acknowledged using paregoric on several occasions. Henrietta Grison faced court for violating prohibition law after a negro roomer allegedly placed whiskey in her home. Police testified whiskey was found in a trap under a rug. She was fined $50 or fifty days. Raymond English, a negro, was fined $15 for drunkenness. A jury trial was demanded in the case charging operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. bond set at $300.
