Former Governor Emmet O'Neal Dies in Birmingham Home
Former Alabama governor Emmet O'Neal died at 5 45 AM in Birmingham after a weeks long illness following a paralysis stroke in Battle Creek Michigan. Born September 23 1858 in Florence he served as governor 1911 to 1916 and later held key legal posts. He leaves a widow Lizzie Kirkman two children Kirkman and Olive and two sisters. Burial is planned in Florence beside his parents.
