Lieut Henry Weddington of the U S Army Aviation Corps plans a 300 mile flight next week from West Point Mississippi to Mobile using the Payne Field coast route. Accompanied by Lieut A H Johnson and civil engineer H Jackson the party approved landing stations at the Country Club and at Coden. The flight will test student aviators training for overseas service as inspectors tour Mobile to review stations aboard W L Henderson of the Mobile Ohio railroad.

Grocery operator discharged in prohibition case
W H Flannagan who ran a groceries at Royal and Palmetto streets was discharged by the recorder after being tried for violating the prohibition law. Police officer A S Smith testified he bought liquor from Flannagan but also reported another person. the officer’s confused testimony led Recorder Edington to dismiss the defendant. Alleged Murderer Held Without Bail In Labor Day Killing
George Morrisette alias Otis Marx, a Black man, held without bail in circuit court on murder charge after allegedly shooting Morgan Gaines on Gaston Street near Adams following a craps dispute. Gaines died after being shot twice and running a block before collapse. Morrisette was captured by deputy sheriffs shortly after the incident.
