Police report says Bierta P Cunningham a telegraph operator was robbed of 36 dollars by three masked robbers on the east side of Joachim Street near Monroe last night at 11 30. A patrolman nearby warned him not to call for help.
G. XK Stevenson age 33 of Minneapolis pleaded guilty in recorder's court to stealing two suitcases from the lobby of the Cawthon hotel. He received one year hard labor on the county road. The suitcases belonged to James L. Hill of New York and R. W. Bentley of Chattanooga. Stevenson said he took the cases at 4 pm Saturday and moved them to a store at Savannah and Broad streets where detectives recovered them. He was arrested hours later.
Christine Bozeman, a Black woman from Plateau, was killed in a Sunday incident. Horace Williams is jailed on a serious charge with John Cunningham held as material witness. Deputy Mills filed the investigation indicating Williams attacked Bozeman with a hatchet after an argument over 40 cents.
Ms Marietta Johnson principal of the Organic School of Fairhope Alabama leaves for Chicago to lead a 12 lecture series before the Chicago League of Women Voters on child education. The school reports another large enrollment with grades from kindergarten to high school.
