Dee ar So ATs Melvin McCreary 16 of Spring Hill died at Providence Infirmary from a double skull fracture after being struck by a passing automobile near the Spring Hill house Thursday afternoon. The driver Seatty 255 North Hamilton Street reportedly stopped, took Melvin McCreary home, and he died Friday morning. He was son of W W McCreary of Spring Hill and an employee of Peoples Bank.

Terma Brooks a 16 year old Toulminville schoolboy was fined 50 dollars or 50 days plus a three month license suspension for reckless driving and speeding. Witnesses say Brooks drove on St Francis and Franklin streets yesterday at 35 to 45 miles per hour, struck Miss Beverly Scott’s car at Dauphin and Franklin, then veered into a ditch at Galvez Park.

George Nelson a Black laborer in Gaffney South Carolina survived a broken back after a fall from a new high school under construction. He was released from hospital where doctors feared death and he has returned to work with physicians predicting recovery.
Petition to qualify ex Governor Alf A Taylor as a Republican candidate for governor of Tennessee will be sent to State Chairman Joe Brown today. A similar petition is circulating in Roane County by former State Representative Harry Burns and will be sent to the chairman next week.

Farmer B P Kimbrough near Greensboro preserves a 144 year old dog track. The track, likely touched by the animal before it hardened, sits in a large brick structure built over the stone. The fragment bears the date 4780 and came from his chimney.
