Sinking of the Schooner Marian N. Cobb Off Atlantic
The Mobile built schooner Marian N. Cobb from Venezuela bound for Jacksonville with guano is believed sunk in the Atlantic five miles off the St. John’s river. The crew of eleven were rescued by the shipping board steamer Sun Dance and taken to Jacksonville. The Sun Dance reported the Cobb’s decks awash as they were pulled away.
