A conference at the county building today includes members of the commission and county board to discuss the $350,000 school bond proposal. They will review financial conditions and the plan to issue bonds for a modern high school and other buildings, followed by a joint meeting with city officials and school board members.
Murphy, once a helper at Ery, was fined 25 dollars for disorderly conduct after threatening to "get" employees following his discharge. J. D. Flanagan, bakery manager, said Murphy was fired for bad conduct and threatened to kill him and the foreman. Recorder Edington warned that repeat offenses would place him on the state docket for a severe sentence.
The federal court clerk discharged the retained petit jury this morning after postponements due to Judge Robert T Ervin’s illness. The two civil cases will be heard at the special August term once the judge recovers. Ervin has been ill for two days and was advised by his physician to stay indoors in the bad weather.
Edna Wallace of 193 North Conception Street appeared before the recorder charged with operating an immoral house at the Conception Street address. The arrest follows a disorderly scene early Saturday when Margaret Lockhart was arrested after leaping from a window to escape officers. Louise Scott, said to reside there, is docketed on the general charge and will have a hearing next Saturday.
Cuban authorities impose fumigation and seven day crew quarantine for ships entering Cuban ports from Mexico. The rule, relayed by the American consul in Havana, informs American shippers of the measure and its landing restrictions.

Chicago May 29. The engineer and fireman of a west bound California Limited on the Santa Fe were killed near Fort Madison Iowa when the train crashed head on into an east bound train No. 4. No passengers were injured and only the engines left the track.
Judge Claude A Grayson fixed July 1 for the hearing on the writ of information filed against Mobile county jury commissioners over six citizens removed from the jury list. The suit, filed by Hiram G Bowling and five others, alleges removal without cause and follows impeachment recommendations against Walter Lord and J B Robertson. The commissioners have engaged counsel and will contest the action.
New York May 29 Commissioner Robert E Todd amends an effort to curb desertion by Chinese seamen in American ports. From January 1 every ship must keep Chinese crew aboard or file a bond of 500 dollars per Chinese crew member to prevent desertion and illegal entry. The amendment may clash with the Lafollette seamen act which seeks to raise alien wages and allows desertion of alien sailors in ports.
Premier Lenine has gone to the country for a two months holiday to recuperate after his operation. He plans to work during the vacation and is said to be writing a new book while away, taking a strong stance toward socialist internationals.

A northeaster raged along the Georgia coast from Savannah at Tybee Beach causing severe property damage. High seas and rising tide threatened beach resorts as pilings at the Tybee hotel were swept away and several houses overturned amid flooding.
Indianapolis May 29 President John McParland was reelected to lead the International Typographical Union slate. D T Campbell of Norfolk Virginia won the vice presidency succeeding Walter Barrett of Chicago who sought the presidency.
Roy Darden former serviceman reached the 50 000 signatures milestone in Anniston Alabama in support of Henry Ford bid for Muscle Shoals He travels in a Ford booster car touring the South. He began his trip April 29 from Nashville and continues to push the Ford offer.

The U S Supreme Court ruled in favor of the government in its suit to declare the Southern Pacific ownership of the Central Pacific Railways unlawful. The decision reversed a Utah federal court finding and addresses whether the Pacific Railroads Acts of 1862 and 1864 formed a single system. The case began in 1894 and reached the high court after years of proceedings and rearguents.
