Nesbitt will manage the campaign for Lieutenant Governor Omas E. Kilby of Anniston. The announcement follows his acceptance of Kilby’s offer. Nesbitt is president of the War-Warehouse in Birmingham and has major business interests in Mobile.
Matthew P. Gwynn of Flomaton Alabama was charged with larceny in Frale Washington. Gwynn was taken into custody by detectives and transported to authorities after an arrest on Tuesday following an inquiry by the recorder Friday.

The United States Emergency Fleet Corporation and United States Shipping Board opened offices in the Bank of Mobile building. The port transacts its industrial service department from these offices.

V C McMaster of Trinity Episcopal delivering the address to graduates Ermina Nash Katherine Steffens Margaret Murphy Mae Whit ten and Susie Nell Swift. Diplomas were presented by J D Bloch, bandage contest won by Nash, Murphy second. Class pins by Mrs E D Peppers, and alumni address by Nora McLeod. Commissioner Crawford spoke on the infirmary’s relation to Mobile. A reception followed.
The John R. Thompson palatial restaurant in Birmingham was stormed and wrecked by an angry mob after the company refused to join other city restaurants in dropping wheat products. Manager Wood was chased, then taken to police headquarters by a citizen committee.
Amsterdam May extends testimony at city council inquiry into the Dutch steamer incident. A mate testified that three submarine crew heard that shots had killed the captain, deemed inexcusable. Reports say the German actions included small arms fire. no serious damage was found. A chimney fire at 155 South Thn Street caused minor response with ponies sent to the scene.
