This marks the third safe raid in two weeks, with losses estimated at $3.71 at Gulf Linen Supply and about $50 at Turner Todd, while tools were found at the scene. Police note experts left no clues and suspect seasoned safebreakers. A separate robbery at H N Fowler butcher shop on St Medar and Marmotie streets reported theft of lard butter flour and other provisions.

Fritz Mahr a 34 year old Memphis grocer walked into a hospital to report he had been shot kidnapped and robbed. He said a stranger followed him into a dog show parade crowd in the business district and shot him in the hip before releasing him from a moving vehicle near the hospital after looting about $300.
