A 17 year old boy is in custody charged with murder as Sheriff Pat Byrne investigates an interstate feud. The incident occurred last night at Tanner Williams school near Mobile after a social gathering. The victim, Jackson, died from a severed artery. his companion Dunn was with him and claims the fight began when Jackson attacked the vehicle.
A mobile lawyer testified that during lunch he discussed a proposed industrial program with Martin and Victor Hanson as part of a plan to establish a rival newspaper in Mobile. The witness said Martin appeared displeased but urged avoiding business interference. Hanson later offered to recommend a publisher, leading to R. B. Chandler launching The Mobile Press.
