April activity at Boys Detention Home reported
Van A Matthews, superintendent, told the board 42 boys were cared for in April including 13 for burglary, 11 for general delinquency, eight for larceny, five for vagrancy, two for running away, two for probation violation, and two for a crime against nature. Three boys were sent to Alabama Training School. Five ran away were from Muncie, New Orleans, and Anniston. Five released on probation, one sent home, one discharged. Girls home admitted two and dismissed one. 12 inmates remained May 1.
