James Stewart one of five negro porters arrested at the St. Andrew Hotel last Thursday night was found guilty of selling liquor to soldiers and given a one year sentence in the federal prison at Atlanta by the federal court Tuesday. The other porters also received the same sentence on Saturday.

Paris May 14 Sergeant Frank L Seyles of the Stork escadrille downed another German aircraft, the eighth credited since February 19. The sergeant is from New Bedford Massachusetts and once served in the American field ambulance.
A Belgian subject of German parentage born at Teuven was forcibly drafted into the German army on January 21, 1918 and deserted on March 4, returning to Belgian representatives in a neutral country. He reported to the Belgian authorities after being placed in the First Ersatz battalion of Regiment Ny. 161 at Duren in Rhenish Prussia.
James Gordon Bennett proprietor of the New York Herald died in France at 6:30 this morning after days of unconsciousness. His last words related to his wife as the AP report notes.
