A conference set at City Hall to draft tax legislation aimed at easing Mobile's financial crisis includes revaluation of real property and higher levies. The plan proposes extending city taxation powers and a tax to cover bond interest and sinking fund, with a seven to eight percent levy cap and an additional millage if revaluation falls short.
The case of the Business Men Racing Pool arises as a corporation in a bookmaking or horse race context. Attorney Gessner appeared for the defendant and stated he was not ready for trial. City officials and deputies were witnesses for the state. The offense is alleged to have occurred in March 1926.

Daily departures are 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. from Mobile and 7:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. from Fairhope.

The Mississippi Warrior Barge Line releases a tariff for sugar and other commodities from Mobile and New Orleans to southern and eastern points. Rates from New Orleans rise to Mobile scale, establishing Mobile as the base and setting a minimum for New Orleans. Other covered goods include roofing materials, asbestos shingles, rice, and rice acts. New rates take effect June 20.
