Two white men, Dan and Horace Stramberger, were held for murder in a Choctaw county case and moved for safety to Grove Home near Butler after sessions in Butler. In Saskatoon Saskatchewan Mrs Muriel Wilson and her four children were found dead on a river bank. Police say she killed the children Laura May nine Louis four and a half Marjorie two and a half and Glen William five months then committed suicide. The bodies were located by searchers who had been seeking the missing youngsters. Mrs Wilson was married to W A Wilson a traveler for Prairie City Oil Company.

Thomas J. Whitworth of Birmingham was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross at Maxwell Field for heroism in World War I. The citation notes he rescued a superior officer under heavy fire near Sergy, France, on July 28, 1918, while serving with Company F, 16th Infantry, 42nd Division, AEF.
The Southern Railway motion to dismiss a citation to show cause why it should not gain control of the Mobile and Ohio Railway was argued today before the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington. W. H. Armbrecht represented the commission on the city’s behalf, with the port of Mobile noted in attendance.
