Six persons faced murder charges during a county probe last week, with three held in jail and others released under caution. Local authorities say the cases emerged from the investigation at Bay Min and surrounding sites, as investigators weigh evidence and pursue further detai ls.

Deputy Baldwin County man Fia m hiner was released on $500 bond and resumed work after winning a habeas corpus writ to prevent removal to Florida for trial on a second degree murder charge. Florida authorities appealed. Foster was killed during a raid on a still near Pineville Florida on March 8.
Wilbert Washington, a Black man, was arrested by county officers on a manslaughter charge after Charlie Sanders died from injuries following a fall from an automobile on Hall's Mill road. Solicitor Bart B. Chamberlain opened the investigation leading to Washington's custody.
Orders call for the return of the 2th United States infantry from Camp Little Nogales and Camp Don Luis near Bisbee to Fort D A Russell Wyoming on May 15. The 20th infantry had been sent to the border during the Mexican rebellion.
Leo Diegel shot 71 to reach 140 total, taking the lead at the British Open in Gullane as Walter Hagen tied for honors with a 67 today for a 142 total. Hagen and Diegel trail Johnny Farrell and Bobby Cruickshank in a tight leaderboard with 147 and 145 further back.
Dr. Paul Galtzoff of the Bureau of Fisheries surveys oyster losses from a freshet along the Alabama coast. He reports only about two percent of oysters survived except in deep Pass Aux Heron waters and urges transplanting on shallow reefs. Senator Hugo Black awaits a final Galtzoff report before relief legislation.
A committee of the Mobile Fair Association was announced today to arrange a site for the 1929 fair. Members include P. Gaillard Jr., chairman, Mackie, A Bates, Mort L. Bixler. The Mobile Fair Association’s split formed the Greater Mobile Gulf Coast Fair Association amid internal friction.
Ira Turner and J. J. Mathis, both of whom were fined for using substitute tags on their cars in inferior criminal court. Each defendant was fined to aid costs of court. The case involved license plate irregularities.
Captain EB Albright was named by O. M. Phelps commander of the local legion post as chairman of a three member committee to assess continuing boxing exhibitions under the legion. The other two members were to be Dr. and a third appointee, following a recent meeting.
The 27th Federation convention opens May 13 in Mobile at 10 a.m. with General Chairman John X. Winstanley presiding. Notables include Governor Bibb Graves Lieutenant Governor W C Davis and Mobile officials Sheriff Pat Byrne Mayor Cecil F Bates and Chief Warren Burch. Headquarters are at the Battle House with delegate registration on arrival led by L B Mobley.
A government official reports that rebel General Gorochea, with 56 men, surrendered to federal forces near San Tiago de los Caballeros in Sinaloa, as of May 9.
